We want to blame
everything but the root of the problem. At the root: A callous disregard for
life…..which has its beginnings in our sin nature. Lust of the eye, lust of the
flesh and the boastful pride of life create the tail winds that push human
beings to the point where their hearts are so hardened that even life itself is
disposable. Add to our natural inclination to sin the enemy's assistance in the
process and it becomes a combustible mixture ready to explode. But let's just
continue to blame the inanimate object instead of the animate initiator no
matter what the instrument of choice might be.
Mark 7:21-23
For from within, out of the heart of men,
proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of
coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride
and foolishness. "All these evil things proceed from within and defile the
man."
