I continue to struggle with the condition of this world and it seems
like the downward spiral that our country (and the world for that matter) is
experiencing is getting faster and we are descending quicker into darkness and
chaos. All around there is strife and struggle and despair…the light is
disappearing and the darkness surrounds us…evil seems to be abounding
everywhere with people not even aware of its destructive power…that its hold is
growing stronger upon the minds and hearts of man.
The enemy's wiles continue to take hold and the wisdom of man does not
even acknowledge it nor comprehend it. The cloud of evil comes upon us and we ignore
the darkness of this age. We even justify its presence as the new age of
understanding and tolerance - for we are new worldly thinkers whose wisdom
cannot be challenged! And evil laughs at our new found vanity of enlightened
minds for he knows that his gates of hell have been opened wide by the naivety
of man.
Yet the Lord knows, He sees, He understands the lot of man. We have
forsaken Him for the ways of our world, we have ignored Him in our lives, we
have given Him honor with our words and lips yet our hearts our far from Him -
it is all vanity. If we desire Him not in our lives, why should He intercede
for a world that rejects Him? Why should He deliver us from this evil age? He
has provided many opportunities for man to seek after Him and we continue to
refuse to turn our hearts to Him. Yes, we seek His name and His hand in times
of extreme trouble but once the trial is over we need Him not!
But the One True Lamp Stand is still emitting the Light of Truth, the
eternal Light that, even in the darkest night, still shines. But few are those
who seek it and allow it to penetrate their hearts and minds. Oh how the Lord
desires that the heart of man would bask in the Light of His love and dwell in
the pasture of His grace. That man would understand that only in the Lord is
there freedom and restoration and redemption and joy - for He sets the captives
of darkness free and unshackles us from the destructive grip of sin and death. Oh
all you people of this world, seek the Lord God Almighty with all of your
hearts, minds and souls…rejoice in His presence, turn from the wicked ways of
this world and honor the One who created you and loves you with an unending, redeeming
love - for the Father longs for the return of His children…come, come into His
marvelous Light.
