God's
Word to His people from the book of the prophet Jeremiah:
I spoke to you in
your prosperity; but you said, 'I will not listen!' This has been your practice
from your youth, that you have not obeyed My voice.
But your eyes and
your heart are intent only upon your own dishonest gain, and on shedding
innocent blood and on practicing oppression and extortion.
This
admonition was to the nation of Israel but it also speaks truth in our time!
Lord God
Almighty may we seek after You with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength
and may we bless You as we desire to honor Your Word…
We beseech You to not remove Your lamp stand from our midst and that we may
regain what has been lost - our first love…
We urgently need Your grace and truth and wisdom and the Spirit's
infilling to lead us in this time…
(Jeremiah 22:17, 22)
