Is it our desire to understand and know the Lord - to know Him better? To be led by the Holy Spirit into an ever closer relationship with Him? For that is what He desires - that we daily walk and talk with Him!
Or does our flesh and our pride and the trappings of this world take precedence - our wisdom, our strength, our riches?
In what (who) do we boast?
Jeremiah
9:23-24 Thus says
the LORD, " Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty
man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches;
but
let him who boasts boast of this,
that
he understands and knows Me,
that
I am the LORD who exercises loving-kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth; for
I delight in these things," declares the
LORD.
