Bless the Lord God Almighty…

The body of Christ (that is the 'church' - which consists of all who believe in Christ Jesus; having been saved by grace through faith) is encouraged and exhorted by scripture to bless the Lord. In our day, we seem to spend quite a bit of our time asking for His blessing upon US but how often do we spend time blessing Him?

From the Psalms: You who revere the LORD, bless the LORD; Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name; But as for us, we will bless the LORD from this time forth and forever; I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the LORD; the humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together; Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name; Bless our God, O peoples…

Church in America – it is time to bless the Lord! Not because we have to but because we desire to shower adoration on the God who created us, who sustains us, who redeemed us, who is gracious and merciful to us, and who loves us with an everlasting love! For it is He whom we shall spend eternity with! You who revere the Lord, bless Him!

To bless is to: bestow adoration upon, it is the giving of praise and honor, appreciative acknowledgement – it is an action.

Draw near, sit at His feet, and bathe in His love…just as we bless the people that are in our lives by building stronger, closer relationships, so should it be with our Lord – He longs for us to spend time with Him; bless Him with your time, with your talents, with your life; thereby showing Him how much you love Him. And heed His admonition to those who are His own – we shall love Him with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength AND love our neighbor as yourself - and thus we shall bless Him!

Nehemiah 9:5-6 Arise, bless the LORD your God forever and ever! O may Your glorious name be blessed And exalted above all blessing and praise! "You alone are the LORD. You have made the heavens, the heaven of heavens with all their host, The earth and all that is on it, The seas and all that is in them. You give life to all of them and the heavenly host bows down before You.
