BUT THE RIGHTEOUS…

The wicked borrows and does not pay back,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS is gracious and gives.
When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS has an everlasting foundation.
He who trusts in his riches will fall,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS will flourish like the green leaf.
An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS will escape from trouble.
Adversity pursues sinners,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS will be rewarded with prosperity.
The wicked is thrust down by his wrongdoing,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS has a refuge when he dies.
The wicked flee when no one is pursuing,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS are bold as a lion.
By transgression an evil man is ensnared,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS sings and rejoices.
When the wicked increase, transgression increases;
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS will see their fall.
Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him;
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS will live by his faith.
These will go away into eternal punishment,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS into eternal life.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written,
BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.

And who is righteous?
THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD (Romans 3:10-11)

So, where do we find righteousness?
For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous. (Romans 5:17-19)

Our righteousness is found ONLY by GRACE through FAITH in the Righteous One – Jesus Christ.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
